Admit it. We all had a little bit of nervousness before the start of this game. A game we had to Win. A game with so many potential outcome possibilities. Our last home game. On Senior night. And damn if it wasn't the night before Halloween. Granted Merrimack was not BG but they were clearly Divsion II contenders. They had a lot resting on this game as well. But this Warrior Team of 2009 has been on a steady climb uphill. Each week, the team has gelled on all facets of the game. The Defense. The Offense. And Special Teams. If this is not the time for a Football team to be peaking then what is? Our boys dominated the Tomahawks from the opening Kick-off. The bend don't break defense were as stingy as you can get. Even stuffing the Tomahawks on a critical 4th and 1 play. It was like that all night. Everyone played great. Jason Busfield found some huge holes and was off to the races. QB Steve Cronan is finding his stride in both the ground attack, and his awesome passing arm. My friends, there is something happening on this team, that is clearly evident to those who are close to the team. And that is...they are playing like a team, who wants to win for their school, for their coaches and more importantly, for each other. These kids genuinely like each other. They love they game. And they want to keep playing. So it's one more regular season game, and then we see who we face in the Play-Offs. If it's who we all want to face...well, that's the kind of stuff that happens on TV. You can't script this kind of drama. But let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Like Coach Affuant says..."One game at a time". Hey Spaulding...the Winnacunnet Warriors are coming to your town.
